Our Story

Long before modern winter outerwear existed, the Bedouins of the Arabian desert relied on a masterpiece of functional design to survive bitterly cold nights: the farwa. A sweeping, floor-length coat lined with dense, insulating warmth, it was a garment born out of pure necessity but worn with undeniable elegance and pride.

The word "Dar" translates to house or home. Dar Farwa simply means "The House of Farwa." We chose this name to represent a dedicated space where this specific cultural garment is respected, refined, and shared with a new audience.

The vision for this brand started right here in Winnipeg. When you navigate our famously harsh, unforgiving winters, you quickly realize how often we are forced to sacrifice style for basic warmth. Most modern winter clothing is strictly utilitarian it gets the job done, but it lacks heritage and soul. I wanted to bring the protective, enveloping warmth of Bedouin tradition directly to the Canadian cold.

Dar Farwa was created to bridge that gap. We are bringing a piece of authentic, traditional craftsmanship to the modern wardrobe, offering a garment that easily stands up to freezing temperatures while looking incredibly striking.

This inaugural collection is an invitation to experience history, culture, and a level of luxury you can actually live in.
